On March 26, 2023, Air India and Nepal Airlines planes came dangerously close to a mid-air collision in the airspace over the Himalayan region. The incident, which occurred at an altitude of 32,000 feet, has once again raised concerns about the safety of air travel in the region.

According to reports, the Air India flight was on its way from New Delhi to Bangkok, while the Nepal Airlines flight was enroute from Kathmandu to Dubai. Both planes were flying on the same airway, and their flight paths intersected near the border between India and Nepal.

The pilots of the two planes reportedly spotted each other just in time and took evasive action to avoid a collision. The Air India plane descended sharply, while the Nepal Airlines plane climbed higher. Fortunately, no one was injured, and both planes were able to continue on their scheduled routes.
